Five compliance notes added for gold import authorizations
DGFT has inserted five new notes under SIONs M1-M8 for gems and jewellery. These notes impose a 100 kg limit on gold imports via Advance Authorization, require facility inspections for first-time applicants, mandate 50% prior export obligation fulfillment, and introduce fortnightly CA-certified reports plus monthly DGFT monitoring.
Action: If applying for or renewing Advance Authorization for gold imports: comply with 100 kg limit, submit fortnightly CA-certified performance reports to your Regional Authority, and ensure 50% fulfillment of prior export obligations before seeking new authorization.
Who is affected: Gems and jewellery exporters/importers holding Advance Authorizations for gold imports (HS Chapter 71).
