India-Oman CEPA: Tariff Rate Quotas added for 23 product lines
India has notified Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) procedures for imports from Oman under the India-Oman CEPA. This allows preferential duty rates on specified quantities of dates, marble, chemicals, plastics, metals, and wire products. Importers must apply online via DGFT portal and obtain TRQ authorization before importing.
Action: Importers wishing to avail TRQ benefits must submit applications online through dgft.gov.in (Import Management System > TRQ) with the deadline of 28 February preceding each financial year for FY 2027-28 onwards; for FY 2026-27, a separate notice will announce the application window.
Who is affected: Importers of dates, marble/travertine, ethylene glycol, alkylbenzenes, polyethylene, polypropylene, PET, polyurethanes, copper wire, aluminium ingots/billets, and related products from Oman.
