NFMIMS registration now allowed before final customs clearance
Importers of copper and aluminium can now register under the Non-Ferrous Metal Import Monitoring System (NFMIMS) anytime before the 'Out of Charge' customs order, instead of only before cargo arrival. This simplifies the registration timeline and eases clearance procedures.
Action: If importing copper or aluminium, submit NFMIMS registration through the online portal before final customs clearance/'Out of Charge' order (instead of before arrival) to obtain your automatic Registration Number.
Who is affected: Importers of copper (Annexure-I) and aluminium (Annexure-II) products under Chapters 74 and 76 of ITC(HS) 2022.
