Raw sugar import quota: 10 lakh MT TRQ allocation opens for millers
India is opening a 10 lakh MT tariff rate quota (TRQ) for raw sugar imports by millers and refiners. Millers with refining capacity can apply online from 21–28 August 2026. Existing advance authorisation holders can convert their unused quantity to the TRQ scheme once.
Action: Eligible millers must apply online via DGFT Import Management System (https://dgft.gov.in) between 21 and 28 August 2026, submitting refining capacity proof and self-declarations.
Who is affected: Sugar millers and refiners with functional refining capacity importing raw sugar for conversion to white/refined sugar.
