Wheat export authorization now requires online application by May 10
India has set new rules for wheat exports of 25 LMT (Lakh Metric Tonnes). Exporters must apply online between May 1-10, 2026 through the DGFT portal. Allocations will be decided by a Special Committee based on export history and minimum turnover of ₹150 crores.
Action: If you export wheat: obtain active IEC, prepare export contracts, certified financials (CA certificate with UDIN), and apply online at https://www.dgft.gov.in between May 1–10, 2026 via License for Restricted Exports portal.
Who is affected: Wheat exporters with active IEC codes seeking to export wheat; prioritizes those with ₹150 crores average annual export turnover in last 3 years, MSMEs, and state/cooperative agricultural enterprises.
