Wheat export ban lifted; now freely exportable
India has removed the export prohibition on wheat (both durum and common wheat). Wheat exports are now allowed without restrictions, effective immediately. This reverses a long-standing ban on wheat exports.
Action: Exporters may now apply for export licenses or proceed with wheat exports under the 'Free' category without prior permission.
Who is affected: Wheat exporters in India exporting durum wheat (HS 10011900) and common wheat (HS 10019910).
