New agencies added for India-Oman trade certificate issuance
India has expanded the list of agencies authorized to issue Preferential Certificates of Origin (CoO) under the India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Multiple export boards, development authorities, and special economic zones are now approved to issue these certificates alongside the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
Action: Exporters to Oman should update their CoO issuance procedures to use the newly authorized agencies listed (APEDA, MPEDA, textile committees, spice boards, etc.) instead of only DGFT, where applicable to their product category.
Who is affected: Exporters of agricultural products, marine products, textiles, handicrafts, spices, tobacco, silk, and coir products to Oman, and businesses operating in specified Special Economic Zones.
